Tri Stories: You spin me round, round……

Winter Sunshine.....BEAUTIFUL!

Tri Stories: You spin me round, round……

Awesome day in Chi-city, 41 degrees bright sunshine and a sweet training!! After Saturday & Monday’s long intense training, I needed to fall back to get my energies right. Up at 08:00 Woot, Woot! (so nice to sleep in)……I left the blinds up over night…..I often do this so the sun greets me as I awake. “Morning sun, I need ya today” I say out loud….It’s around this time of year when I desperately need sun, though I take Vitamin D, nothing lifts me up like Sunshine……Thanks Mother Nature! I sit for meditation……I've been invited to speak & teach at some great upcoming events.......spending my free time working to meet deadlines are the forefront of my day’s……I need this meditation daily to keep me from becoming overwhelmed, I do my best work in peace, where my creativity awakens. After my meditation I move into sun salutations facing the windows as the sun shines on me filling my spirit with peace......After my home practice, I head out to get my spin on!

Come on let's Sweat!

Tuesday spin with DeWitt, as per usual the class was FABulous! I love this class, the same group returns every week , with a few newbie’s……and because he’s familiar with us I think he KICKS our butts just a little more each week….Lol…..I know as a teacher I tend to challenge my Monday eve and Friday noon classes just a bit more, as they are usually people I’m very familiar with, I've come to know their bodies and abilities (teaching is so rewarding!). DeWitt’s ride today had us climbing intense hills, I think we moved through 6 hills or more, I don’t know, I lost count after the third one…LOVESIT! I’ve been working on my form and peddle, so it felt good today when DeWitt commented on the improvement of my form in standing runs! Yayyyy…….This guy is TOUGH, so if he notices improvement, then I must be improving!! Yayyyy……I tend to be a bit of a perfectionist especially when it comes to ME, if I do something, I aim for the best and nothing less….I don’t worry about the time it takes to improve, as long as I’m improving.

I could feel my quads, calf’s and core workin’ it out as we rode……I like that…….Spinning does something to me,  reves me up! Challenging but enjoyable non impact ride, unlike running I look forward to spinning!!

YUP!
At the end of class there was a nice puddle of sweat beneath me…..Good ride!! I was feeling all brand new and refreshed, as I headed up to the yoga studio.....moving into pigeon pose to lengthen things out post ride………And that’s it!!! Strong ride followed by a stretch, and I’m out!! I needed this today, no changing clothes three-four times....NO……GASP……Steam Bath!!! Just a Strong spinnin in awesome energy with lovely peeps and a great teacher…..PURRRrrrFect!

Tomorrow is my day off….I’ll put my sequence together for the March Of Dimes 36th annual Perinatal Conference I’ve been invited to teach at!! I’m sooooo looking forward to this event, as a former NICU & Pediatric ER nurse, I know what we nurses go through…….I left Bedside nursing to bring Yoga back to my colleagues......ANY event I’m booked for that involves nurses, means SO much to me! This is my passion, my dream, my intention...... providing Health Care Professionals, with yoga, breathing, meditation & journaling tools to help them improve their own health and feel more empowered to help their patients (Healer Heal Thyself). So much happens to a nurse in 8-12 hr shifts and beyond!! We need some TLC and it’s my intention to provide as much as I can to my hardworking colleagues!

I LOVE BEING A NURSE & YOGA TEACHER……LOVE IT!!

Peace, Love & Nursing

Peace,
T
